Discovering FDA Approved Laser For Pain

When it comes to overcoming painful joints, it can often be difficult to find the right treatment option. In most cases, individuals end up taking harsh narcotics and receiving painful injections either of which can become addictive. Now that there is a new FDA Approved Laser For Pain, this may no longer be the case.

After a series of tests with subjects determined that the laser was more effective than a placebo with regards to reducing this type of discomfort, the FDA approved the laser for use in pain management. As such, the NHN product classified as a FDA 510(k) clearance allows patients and clinicians a safer and more effective drug-free method of pain management.

The product emits monochromatic radiation by using light amplification which is coherent and collimated. The process emits energy through wavelengths of infrared or other sources which provide a non-thermal and non-heated effect. In all cases, the product can be used without the need for associated topical or other forms of heat.

While a number of similar products are for sale in the United States, few have obtained FDA approval or have been designated as NHN which recognizes the product as being non-thermal. As such, while a number of the products may be effective, most are lacking the safety requirements of those approved by the FDA.

Companies most often avoid undergoing the necessary steps for FDA approval due to the rigorous cost and time it takes to do so. For, there are a number of studies required which require reporting results to a number of organizations. After which, the product must then undergo more series of tests related to safety and effectiveness before receiving such approval.

Unlike other companies which produce or mass produce products, these new laser light pain relieving products are produced using the latest innovative medical technologies. In most cases, products using this new technology work to increase circulation while eliminating discomfort. As a result, the individual often experiences much long periods without pain of discomfort while eliminating the need for chiropractors, painful injections or harsh narcotics.

During these research studies, researchers worked with eighty six individuals to determine how light therapies such as phototherapies and others effected non-specific painful areas in the knee. Results associated with twelve individuals showed that the therapies were effective in easing and at times eliminating pain. After which, those twelve individuals were re-assessed during a one month follow up with researchers.

Once having discovered the discomfort had significantly decreased among the majority of the test subjects, FDA approval was pretty much assured. While this was the case, the studies went on to determine the success rate of this new laser based therapy on pain in the shoulder and neck which resulted in the final round of studies and FDA approval. As a result, a number of individuals whom had to take harsh narcotics, make regular visits to a chiropractor or receive painful injections on a regular basis, no longer have to do so.
