About half of the population of the world enjoys rice as a staple food. Most people love it since it is readily affordable, versatile, highly nutritious, and easy to store and cook. Cooking rice, however, is not very easy for most people. Many people need the help of the new Joyoung Rice Cooker to cook the perfect rice.

Rice cookers originated in Japan. Rice cooking in Japan is a serious art. They started off as simple and basic rice cookers. They have now evolved to include advanced functionality such as different settings for different rice types. Some have evolved to include other grains and food settings.

Rice steamers, another name used to refer to these cookers, make the most perfect and fluffy rice. They maintain a steady temperature for the rice to cook evenly as the water is absorbed. A crucial step to ensure great results is to use the preferred measuring cup that is offered with the electric rice cookers.

When the water is boiling, a constant temperature of about 100 degrees is maintained. Afterward, when the rice has cooked, the cooker is able to change the temperature automatically to a keep warm function. This keeps the rice warm until it is ready to be served.
