A brunch is a meal that people eat in the time frame between lunch and breakfast. It is meant to replace breakfast and lunch combined. In most cases the meal is eaten when people rise late in the morning so that they combine breakfast and lunch and eat it together. It is also common for people to just plan to have a brunch instead of breakfast and lunch separately.

The first two letter of the name brunch are the first two letter of the name breakfast while the last three letters come from the work lunch. Brunch in Colorado is considered a typical and common meal in which residents have a habit of engaging in. Although the meal is very popular in the US, it owes its origin to British college students. An article in Punch magazine states that the term was first used by students as a slang in 1896.

In most cases, brunches are served after people have engaged in some form of activity in the morning. Also, they are served before people engage in some activity in the afternoon. Some of the activities which people may engage in include sporting events and wedding. The meal is viewed a very relaxing and appropriate for informal celebrations. Its continues to grow in popularity around the world.

The promotion of brunch has been done in many ways including film. Several movies have been produced, which have something to do with brunches. Brunches are also served in a large number of hotels and restaurants in Colorado and the US at large. In most restaurants, the meal is served on weekends and holidays. Restaurants use buffets to serve the meal in which people serve themselves to food. Brunches may also be available as menu-ordered meals.

Standard breakfast foods are usually comprised in brunches. Some of the foods includes are sausages, eggs, pastries, bacon, pancakes, fruits, and ham. Other foods prepared during the day may also be included. Buffets are usually characterized by soups, huge roasts of poultry/meat, smoked fish, vegetable dishes, deserts, cold seafood, and salads.

Chinese restaurants around the world are popularly known for serving customers with brunches. In Chinese restaurants located in Colorado, brunches include several different kinds of foods, which include steamed, baked, deep-fried, and stuffed meals. These foods are supplied on carts that are passed around the restaurants and customers pick the foods they want from the carts.

The food is picked from the carts until they are emptied and then they are returned to the kitchen so that they can be resupplied with food. The staff in the kitchen continuously prepare more food according to the size of the guests and their eating habits. Restaurants and hotels prepare brunches with a frequency that is dependent on preferences of the local population.

Restaurants usually prepare brunches for customer who place reservations in advance. Brunches are sold at flat rates in most cases. Anyone who takes part in the buffet usually pays a given fixed amount regardless of how much they eat. In some rare cases, customers may have to pay for every food item that is included into the menu.
